Earth Science Information Partners (ESIP) is an open, networked community that brings together science, data and information technology practitioners. ESIP is supported by NASA, NOAA, USGS and 110+ member organizations all working together to collaboratively share research, funding opportunities, and to network with one another. As part of their services, the ESIP Lab hosts member-driven ideation challenges and prize-competitions. These problem-solving events include idea, creative, technical and scientific competitions in which the ESIP Lab invites the public’s help to solve perplexing data-centric problems. When ESIP adopted IdeaScale, anyone who wanted to address a challenge was able to reach out to the entire ESIP community for ideas and collaborators.
Learn how Earth Science Information Partners
- Leveraged IdeaScale for the Lab’s competitions
- Gathered ideas that will result in comprehensive and technical solutions.
- Heard from members that they wouldn’t have otherwise heard from
“The ideas that were submitted and worked on in IdeaScale, the projects were better than the ideas and solutions that we had been gathering with our previous process. They were also far more aligned with the challenge sponsor’s needs IdeaScale has now become integral to our process.”
-Erin Robinson, Executive Director for ESIP
