Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) is an American multiprogram science and technology national laboratory. It is the largest science and energy national laboratory in the Department of Energy system and its programs focus on materials, neutron science, energy, high-performance computing, systems biology and national security.
In order to meet program objectives, ORNL launched JUMP (Join the discussion, Unveil innovation, Motivate transformation, Promote technology-to-market). JUMP is an online crowdsourcing community launched in 2015. In 2016, four other national labs hosted campaigns (referred to as ‘calls for innovation’) using the JUMP platform, including Argonne National Laboratory, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, National Renewable Energy Laboratory, and Pacific Northwest National Laboratory.
