As a commander in the U.S. Coast Guard, Tyson Weinert led a movement to re-imagine how innovation could leverage human-centered design and crowdsourcing to inspire servicemembers to tackle vexing challenges and design impactful solutions. Building a new challenge-based model was key to his work. Now a Group Program Director for LUMA Institute, Tyson works with a variety of organizations in the public and private sectors to help them scale a culture of innovation and design literacy.
During this 60-minute webinar, Tyson will share stories from his work, including how he used both IdeaScale’s crowdsourcing platform and LUMA’s unique system of human-centered design to empower the Coast Guard’s 88,000-member workforce to innovate through a strategic lens. He’ll share activities and provocative thought exercises to show how anyone can use IdeaScale and the LUMA System together to properly frame the right problems to solve, then develop impactful solutions.
