No wonder the pre is failing. It has LESS features than the treo/centro did. Why the hell would you enter birthdays in the contacts if it has no reminder? I missed many important birthdays/anniversarys already. Palm needs to die. My junk old centro even reminded me of this!

Makes sense! Especially since it was on the Treo. Whats the point of putting s birthday on contact if it wont remind you of it...

Update: Some of the hackers at the PreCentral.net forums have found that the capability to add launcher pages is already written to the OS, but is commented out. I wonder if they disabled it while they assess other "first release" bugs in the OS, and I assume they plan to enable it later.

If you can "root" your pre (instructions are in the same forums) you can uncomment the relevant lines and enable the feature.

Agreed. My old Palm III could scroll, had pages according to category, and a list mode. This is actually a step backward for Palm.

I'd like to be able to turn the display _off_ while it's on the Touchstone, like when I charge it with the cable - it dims on the Touchstone, but it's still too bright at night when I'm trying to get to sleep.

Not sure about placement within "Sounds & Ringtones". Maybe if they rename it to "Sounds & Notifications" or something, but I think a separate app is called for. Good idea, though, organizing them together.

I find I'm at least occasionally not accurate enough for this. Other times the calendar shows not enough empty space and I want to add another event clustered around existing ones, and the current easiest way for me in these cases is to use the menu.

If you tap in the time slot you want the event to be in, it should create a new event. You can either type in information right away, or tap the (i) indicator for a more detailed entry.

I'm not sure of the actual mechanics of the idea, but I also think this is an issue. On iPhone OS, double tapping the home button brings up the on screen skip/pause/play widget, and I'd be happy to see the same thing on webOS.

Well, an SDK that can utilize Linux directly would be nice. Additionally being able to use an X server instead of rendering via webkit would enable the creation of complex applications.
